Norton Cancer Institute Preview
Norton Cancer Institute is set to unveil its brand new 65,000-square-foot, three-story facility in downtown Louisville at 676 S. Floyd St. (corner of Broadway and Floyd Street). The new building will feature a first-floor radiation center and second-floor space for multidisciplinary specialty centers. At the forefront, the building is designed for optimal patient and family care and comfort. Combining the latest in radiation and treatment options with award-winning care, Norton Cancer Institute truly provides advanced technology and the greatest compassion. The center will be connected to the pedway system serving the entire Norton Healthcare downtown campus, including Norton Hospital, Norton Healthcare Pavilion and Kosair Children's Hospital.
LEED certification
The building's construction has followed the principles necessary to achieve LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) designation, the recognized national standard for demonstrating that a construction project is truly "green." The LEED rating system, developed and administered by the U.S. Green Building Council, promotes green design and construction practices that reduce the negative environmental impacts of buildings and improve occupant health and well-being.

The new Norton Cancer Institute – Downtown building, needs volunteers to help with light clerical duties, make coffee for patients and visitors, greet patients and visitors, assist with patient flow and answer phones. Volunteers are needed Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. To volunteer, call Deloris White at (502) 629-7075.
